Roulette

Roulette is one of the most popular casino and gambling games found in almost all casinos. According to Wikipedia, it is named after a French Diminutive for "little wheel". In this game, players can choose to place bets on either a specific number, a range of numbers, the color red or black, or whether the number will be odd or even. Players can also place bets on particular dozens (a block or row of 12 numbers. Bets on colors (red or black), small or big, odd or even, and dozens are all considered outside bets and bets on numbers are considered inside bets.

A winning number and color is determined when the the croupier spins the wheel in one direction, then spins the ball in the other direction. The ball eventually loses velocity & momentum and falls onto the wheel and finally settles into one of the 37 (in European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) numbered and colored pockets on the wheel. In both instances, players can also bet on the single zero and double zero numbers depending on the type of roulette being played.

How to play roulette

Playing Roulette is simple so l let's start with the basics to get a general idea of how to play the game.
The objective of the game is to correctly guess the slot number where the ball will eventually land. Similar to blackjack, players play against the dealer (croupier), who is responsible for spinning the wheel, the ball and calculating the payouts on the wins. Given that the ball lands randomly, the next spins do not depend on the previous ones.

A European Roulette wheel has 37 numbers including a zero (0) slot, while American Roulette has 38 numbers, including a zero (0) and double (00) slots.

Roulette is traditionally played with a maximum of 8 inside players. Inside players are players who decide to sit at the table and mostly play the inside numbers (1-36, 0, 00). These players are given a chip color in order to distinguish them for the other table players. Outside players can join at any time to play outside. If the table is full, they will not be able to play inside. Of course, some casinos may have different rules.

When To Place Your Bets

This is always a tricky question. Players have a tendency to want to remove their winnings right away which tends to annoy some croupiers. Players can remove their winnings once the croupier finishes paying out all the wins and removes the marker off the table.

Players can then proceed to place their bets. Bets can be placed up until the point the croupier waves his hand across the table and clearly says :"NO MORE BETS"

Inside bets

• One number = Straight up
• Two numbers = Split
• Three numbers = Street Bet
• Four numbers = Corner
• Six numbers = Line Bet

Outside bets

• Twelve numbers via a Row
• Twelve numbers via a Block
• Red or Black = Color
• Even or Odd
• Low (1-18) or High numbers (19-36)
